Christian Organizations Supported by Steamboat Rock Baptist Church

In addition to supporting 14 different missionaries, our church supports six Christian organizations that represent a wide variety of ministries - including those locally, regionally, and internationally. Starting this month, we will highlight each of them as our “Organization of the Month” in this newsletter, the Weekly Prayer Sheet, and before the Sunday morning services. Please check out the websites for each organization to learn more about their ministries, how to pray for them, and how you can help support them.

The Little Rock Ministryhttps://www.facebook.com/littlerockministries/ This is a small nonprofit Christian organization serving the Pine Crest Mobile Home Park in Eldora, Iowa.  Several of our church members help with this ministry. They provide Bible study opportunities for men, women, and children in the park. Kathy Sutton shared about their ministry with our church on December 15, 2024. We also provided school supplies for children in fall 2024. Check out the article about this wonderful ministry in this month’s Water from the Rock!

Village Creek Bible Camp http://villagecreek.net/   Village Creek Bible Camp “is a year-round ministry offering life-changing camp experiences enabling people of all ages to grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ. Since 1972, Village Creek has offered a wide variety of camps and retreats and is dedicated to serving as an extension of the local church. It is located in northeast Iowa’s beautiful Bluff Country just a few miles west of the Mississippi River.”  Our church has sent and provided camp scholarships for students for many years. They visited Steamboat Rock Baptist Church on February 16, 2025.

Want to learn more? Jon Hiatt, their Chief Development Officer, will visit our church on Sunday, April 27, 2025 and present during the Pathways class at 9:30 a.m.

Missionary Evangelistic Fellowship (MEF)/ Asian School of Evangelism (ASE)http://mefase.org/  “The MEF/ASE mission remains focused on equipping local believers throughout Asia for evangelism and ministry. They work through long-term local partners, many of whom are now second-generation leaders in their respective ministries. They encourage local partners to identify and work with regional (i.e., Asian) Christian organizations such as India Missions Association and Singapore-based Ambassadors For Christ, for more appropriately contextualized materials and support.”  MEF/ASE currently serves in countries such as India, Indonesia, South Korea, Taiwan, Japan, and others. Mark Buskohl from our church serves on their board of directors.
