What Can a Monkey Do?

Quick! Name 3 things a monkey can do! 3,2,1—Did you make your list? Was COMFORT one of those items on your list? How about ENCOURAGEMENT? EVANGELIZE?

Well, this August, during our Vacation Bible School, we are going to be meeting this monkey:

Carlitos and a cool package of stickers, wrist bands, Scripture memory cards, an illustrated booklet, Gospel tract, and access to an app with video cartoon stories and object lessons will pave the way to bring Comfort, Encouragement, and the Gospel to hurting kids here in Iowa. These kids have suffered some kind of trauma due to loss of home, belongings, and perhaps even injury or death from this summer’s tornado in Greenfield and the flooding in northwest Iowa.

During VBS, our kids will have a chance to bring in their pennies, nickels, and dimes (quarters and dollars are accepted, too) to “purchase” a Carlitos monkey. Uncle Charlie, the man behind the mission project, has also chosen to generously give a Carlitos monkey for every $25 that will be donated to our mission project. Two hurting kids will be comforted and encouraged to be brave—and will be clearly shown the Gospel—for every $25 given in our VBS offering.  Help support our VBS Kids in their efforts to reach out with the love of Jesus to kids who are fighting life’s toughest battles! Feel free to make a copy of the flyer and hand them out to your friends, too. Monetary donations can be sent to the church with the words Carlitos VBS Mission Project and let’s see how many monkeys we can provide!
