Same Team

Last month, you may recall that we discussed the Lifecycle of a Church and how it is the Transition Team’s job to assess the results of the MIT Survey which gave valuable insights into the strengths and weaknesses of Steamboat Rock Baptist Church. I promised to give you the Twelve Church Health Characteristics that were assessed in the MIT Survey so that you could have a better understanding of the kinds of things the Team is reviewing (see below).

While SRBC is certainly not in peril at this time, there are opportunities to shore up some concerning areas. The TT will be strategizing and recommending steps that could be taken to benefit our church health in these specific areas. This will be important information for both the Search Committee and for ‘Pastor Next’ to understand so they might come to wise decisions for the right ‘church-lead pastor’ fit.

With this information, it is my prayer that you will be able to pray more specifically and intelligently for the Transition Team and the church. I cannot emphasize enough the importance of your faithful prayers through this transition time! You, yourselves, are an integral ‘TEAM’ as Prayer Warriors for God’s direction and guidance during this important time in the life of Steamboat Rock Baptist Church!!

1. Engaging Worship: Expressing our love and praise to the Lord and glorifying Him in all aspects of our lives.

2. Transformational Preaching: Declaring God’s Word, demonstrating its relevance to our world, resulting in living like Christ.

3. Corporate Prayer: Regularly expressing our utter dependence upon God in all things.

4. Spiritual Formation: Encouraging one another to love God with all our hearts and to daily live out our faith.

5. Healthy Relationships: Developing relationships where we love one another in the same way that Christ loves us.

6. Ministry Mobilization: Encouraging believers to serve in areas employing their spiritual gifts.

7. Outreach & Evangelism: Reaching out to others in word and deed showing and sharing the good news.

8. Hospitality & Connections: Welcoming and helping others to develop new friendships.

9. Community engagement: Intentionally embracing our community to transform it with the love of Christ.

10. Visionary Leadership: Leading and equipping people to serve Christ's vision for our church.

11. Leadership Development: Developing and releasing leaders to reproduce more leaders.

12. Strategy & Structure: Organizing ourselves to support our mission rather than hindering efficient, effective, and fruitful ministry.
