Where is Your Go!?

Following Jesus…Further! leads all of us to GO! show Jesus’ love and GO! share Jesus' story.   The question is “Where is your GO!?”  Some of you may have answered that question; others may still be figuring it out.

The answer for Andrea Folkerts this past April was the Pine Crest Mobile Home Park.  Andrea lived in a mobile home park and knows from experience the difference that love and nurturing can make for someone who may live with less affluence.

She and her husband, Rodney, were helped by Chandra Luse, Cathy Sutton, and Margaret Goode in serving a wonderful Easter-Eve meal of Pork Loin (provided by Iowa Select Foundation), mashed potatoes, corn casserole, and some beautiful home-baked and decorated cupcakes to 76 residents in the Little Rock Ministry Center.  They provided Easter baskets for all the kids, and some of the cupcakes were decorated with kids in mind, like the “Bunny Butt Cupcake.”  This was her second year to show Jesus’ love to the residents in this way.  She also included an invitation to join us at church.

Rodney Folkerts has jumped on board with helping to plan our GO! Day for Eldora coming up on June 10!  Plans include a challenge to “Drive for Five.”  The five projects include 1) Projects at the Community Garden, 2) Filling the Church Bus with food for Pine Lake Food Shelf, 3) Maintenance Projects at Little Rock Ministry Center, 4) Hardin County Helps Warehouse, 5) LifeServe Blood Drive.   We will celebrate with a barbecue lunch served at Rotary Park on the Courthouse Square for all those who contribute or participate in some way.  We are praying for more than 50 to join us in finding our “GO!” in Eldora that day.

Finally, each of us knows people who don’t know the joy, the peace, or the fellowship of worshipping God with others in church.  The Evangelism Team is encouraging everyone to invite those people to join us for church, May 7, as we launch our next series “Pursuing the Promise.”  Find your “GO!” inviting those friends and neighbors to come join us for worship as we all seek to Follow Jesus…Further!
