BIG Christmas Fun

Like many of you, Christmas is one of my favorite times of the year. Because my dad, an only child, grew up in a family in which there was not one shred of Christmas celebration, he determined that if he ever had children, he would make sure they had BIG Christmas fun.  As a result, even though money was always tight, my parents worked extra jobs so that my sisters, brother, and I always had plenty of toys and gifts and my mom, who loved to cook and bake, always made sure we ate like kings at Christmas.

It wasn’t until I was 20 years old that I became aware that Christmas originated with the birth of Jesus Christ.  He is God’s greatest gift to mankind so that those who trust Him as both Savior and Lord have received the greatest gift of all - Eternal Life.

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall

not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16

This realization transformed my perception of Christmas.  While we still enjoy a nostalgic Christmas with memory-making traditions, special foods, and gifts, every year we make it our aim to remind ourselves, our kids, and our grandkids that the joyous birth of our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ is the center of it all.

Karol and I pray that all of you will have a Christ-Centered Christmas!
